Avatar making people depressed?

I came across an article on CNN and they were reporting that people after seeing the movie avatar were becoming depressed and having suicidal thoughts. I find this pretty funny and kept asking myself this can’t be true, but as the article goes on it gives examples of people talking about the movie on blogs and social networks and also interviewed some of these people and the reports were true. So there for this week on my blog I am going to talk about why and what I think this movie is making people think these ways.

I have seen the movie and thought it was pretty good and the graphics and special effects were second to none and the 3d really helped bring the fictional planet and creates come to life. After seeing the movie I did not get down on life, I just thought it was a pretty good fictional movie. But after seeing the news reports and looking at super fans blogs, sites and reading this articles, some people took this movie to heart and started comparing it to their life’s. But of course our planet will never meet up to the standards of the fictional planet of Pandora and the avatar people were made out to be these great beings with strong purpose in their life. So I can see yourself getting down on life, but then again it’s a fictional movie and your life is what you make of it, you don’t like it you hold the power to change it.

In conclusion avatar is a very good movie, but it's nothing to compare your life. Its a fictional movie, not real so get your life together.

  1. Yah, I heard all the same things. I think it's pretty dumb myself. I don't see how people can compare Earth a real thing to Pandora which is a fictional planet. I guess I could understand if people were to change there ways to make the Earth a better place, but killing yourself doesn't make any sense. I am sure these people had problems way before Avatar came out and this was the breaking point for them. I think people in general are dumb, but this takes it to a new level. You are right, people have the power to make life what they want. These poeple on the other hand did not think of it that way. It's sad to here people killing themselves over a movie, but if your that dumb then maybe it was a good thing. I don't know how they felt thats just my opinion.
